Q&A with Ryan Graham

Name: Ryan Graham
School & Grade: Washingtonville junior
Height & Position: 6-foot-1 guard

Graham is having a breakout season for Washingtonville; averaging 13.6 points per game, and 3.4 assists per game after not playing much last season. He scored 33 points against Pine Bush (19 in the first quarter) and is one of three Wizards players who averages double-digits points per game.

 If you had to compare your game to any basketball player, past or present, who would it be and why?

“If I had to compare my game to anyone past or present I’d compare it to Demar Derozan cause he can score from anywhere on the floor especially the mid-range.”

Besides yourself, or anyone else on your team, who do you think the best basketball player in Section 9 is and why?

“Brian Moore (Kingston) or Dior Johnson (Saugerties) are two of the best players in the section. They are both dominant scorers and can do it whenever they want and however they want.”

Any idea what profession you want to pursue after high school?

“After high school I would like to pursue a profession somewhere in the medical field. But I’m not 100% sure yet.”

You’re only allowed to listen to one musical artist for the rest of your life. Who you listenin’ to?

“If I had to listen to one artist for the rest of my life, it would definitely be A Boogie Wit’ Da Hoodie.”

One fact that most people don’t know about you.

“Not a lot of people know I play baseball as well as basketball.”

What’s your favorite NBA team and why?

“The Knicks because I grew up watching them and Melo was my favorite player to watch.”

What current trend makes no sense to you?

“All those Bird Box memes make no sense.”

What takes up too much of your time?

“Fortnite does take up to much of my time if I get on to play just a few games it turns into several more.”

What is something you think everyone should do at least once in their lives?

“Everyone should go to any sports playoff game. The atmosphere is crazy different from a regular season game. People should also buy some Ayyy Boyyy gear, it’s pretty trendy right now.”
