Height & Position: 6-foot-2 Center
Last season as a sophomore, Waldron averaged 13 points per game. This season, she’s averaging 13.7 points per game, 6.2 rebounds per game and a monstrous 4.6 blocks per game. Waldron is one of three girls to reach a triple-double this season (20 points, 14 rebounds & 11 blocks vs. Pearl River)
What are you able to do best on the court?
“I would say that I’m best at being able to find an open shot whether it is a mid-range jumper or a post-up. Or establishing position and winning the matchup before the ball gets passed.”
What’s one thing about your varsity basketball team that’s different from any other team you’ve been on?
“Everyone on my team brings a different twist and way to play the game. Everyone truly enjoys basketball itself even when there’s a sense of frustration, everyone has the ability to pick one another up.”
If you could turn any activity into an Olympic sport, what would you have a good chance at winning a medal at?
“Honestly, I spend so much of my time playing sports that any chance of free time I get I usually sleep haha. So unless you count sleep as an activity 🤷🏼♀️”
Favorite NBA player?
“Anthony Davis. He’s a truly dominant player in the paint who always find his way to the rim to finish. But he also has a great eye to find the open player or open shot. His fade away is filthyyyyy and his blocking game is crazy too!!”
What takes up too much of your time?
“I play basketball every second of every day so i would say that takes up most of my time but I’d never complain about that.”
What’s the best way to start the day?
“Snooze the alarm clock until I gotta be outside in 5 minutes haha. But it is wavy to start off a day with a long shower.”
Who’s your go to band or artist when you can’t decide on something to listen to?
“Gotta say old A Boogie in his original ‘Artist’ days always hits the spot, but I also highkey love Russ.”
What’s your favorite movie?
“Finding Nemo is the goat.”
What is something you think everyone should do at least once in their lives?
“I think that everyone should travel and go somewhere outta their comfort zone!! Also every basketball player has gotttta get a training session in at GymRatz (in Florida, NY) !!!!!”
